Last year we released a Yellow Honey processed coffee from Leticia’s farm and it was one of our most popular releases of 2022. So what's more appropriate in the summer than a blockbuster sequel? 

Leticia wanted to offer a Black Honey microlot last year, but the rainy weather conditions had other plans (black honey processing requires much more time drying out in the sun than other honey processes). This coffee is bigger and bolder. More of the cherry is left on the beans while drying, making all those sweet flavors as sweet as they can possibly be. The final result is a wilder, more complex cup of summer flavors: mouthwatering strawberries, a bright pop of pineapple, and the lightness of a black tea. 

Finca La Unica in Honduras was purchased in 2016 by Leticia Lopez, a fifth-generation coffee farmer. Formerly a cattle farm, the land is located in the village of Cartagua in the famous coffee growing region of Copan. Leticia purchased the farm from her father Adelmo “Al” Lopez of Finca Terrerito, which has been supplying coffees for our award-winning espresso blend for several years.
